Digital Storytelling Story BoardIntroductionGood Morning Class,For the past week, we have been discussing in our Science class some natural wonders on earth. This video contains elements of nature and our environment. It is divided into 5 sections-Beaches, Waters, Mountains, Canyons, and Sunsets.
BeachesBeaches are landforms along the shoreline of an ocean, sea, or lake and consists of rock, sand, gravel, pebbles, cobblestones, shells and algae. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Beach
BeachesExamples:Goa Beach in IndiaAmalfi Beach in ItalyAcropolis Beach of Lintos Greece
Waters of Water BodiesWater bodies consist of oceans which cover 71% of the earth’s surface and made of saline, seas which are also made of saline and connected with oceans, rivers usually formed from precipitation and flow from higher ground to lower ground, and lakes which are usually freshwater, are considerable in size, and contained on a body of land.http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Body_of_water
WaterbodiesExamplesMalta Cliffs and the Mediterranean SeaArgentina Lakes in South AmericaRiver in San FranciscoIquassu Falls in Brazil
Water BodiesMoreExamplesLake Matheson in New ZealandLake Titicaca in PeruYoukon Flats River
MountainsMountains are large landforms that stretch above the surrounding land usually in the form of a peak. Tall mountains have different climatic conditions at the top than at the base.Mountains are made up of earth and rock materials.http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mountain
MountainsExamplesMountains at SkagwayMountains in AlaskaMountains in Colorado
MountainsMoreExamplesLandmark Wall in ChinaMount Ranier in WashingtonMountains in Southern California
CanyonsCanyons are deep ravines between cliffs that are often carved from the landscape by a river. Canyon walls are often formed of sandstones or granite.http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Canyons
CanyonsExamplesCanyonlands in UtahCanyon de Chelly in ArizonaGrand Canyon-1 of the largest in the world
Sunset or SundownSunset is the daily disappearance of the sun below the horizon as a result of the Earth’s rotation. The sunset creates unique atmospheric conditions such as intense orange and red colors of the sun and the surrounding sky.http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sunset
SunsetsExamplesSunset in AfricaSunset in CaliforniaSunset in CambodiaSunset in Hudson Bay Canada
SummaryThese were amazing pictures of natural occurrences in nature and our environments. This is only a portion of elements that have formed over time and exist today without the hands of man. We will discuss others later in the text.
