This document summarizes a public-private partnership between Massachusetts and NAVTEQ to update and maintain street data for use by emergency responders. NAVTEQ did field work to collect missing street data and helped standardize data to the MSAG format. The partnership took over 2 years to fully implement but provided improved road data across agencies. The maintenance process involves quarterly data reviews and field verifications. Future plans include customizing MSAG standardization, point geocoding, and tracking data changes over time. The partnership benefits all involved by improving emergency response and saving costs compared to working separately.
