The National Centre for Financial Education (NCFE) provides financial education programs across India. It operates financial education websites in 13 languages and has conducted 49 Financial Education Training Programs for teachers across states. The Money Smart School Program integrates financial education into school curriculums, reaching 266 schools. The Financial Awareness and Consumer Training program educates graduates and post-graduates, having covered around 1000 students so far. NCFE aims to promote financial awareness and empowerment across India.
NCFE Way Forward
- 1. NATIONAL CENTRE FOR FINANCIAL EDUCATION A financially aware and empowered India The NCFE is a joint initiative of all financial sector regulators i.e. RBI, SEBI, IRDAI and PFRDA, set up within NISM under guidance of the Technical Group on Financial Inclusion and Financial Literacy of the Sub-Committee of FSDC to implement the National Strategy for Financial Education.
- 2. FINANCIAL EDUCATION WEBSITE • NCFE financial education website is now available in 10 languages viz. English, Hindi, Tamil, Bengali, Marathi, Telugu and Gujarati, Kannada, Urdu and Punjabi • 3 more languages (Odia, Malayalam and Assamese) will be added • No. of Unique visitors on NCFE website - 617,422 • Total number of visits on our website as on 30th May 2018- 32,025,035 NCFE A financially aware and empowered Slide No. 2

FINANCIAL EDUCATION TRAINING PROGRAM (FETP) • Training program for teachers providing unbiased personal financial education • Two day rigorous workshop with 8 sessions • Topics include Banking, Insurance, Capital Markets, Pension, Grievance Redressal Mechanisms, Govt. Financial Inclusion Schemes, Financial Planning, etc. • After completing training, certified Money Smart Teachers facilitate conducting financial education classes for students NCFE A financially aware and empowered Slide No. 3

MONEY SMART SCHOOL PROGRAM (MSSP) • An unique program encouraging schools to integrate financial education in their curriculum • Well defined syllabus that seamlessly integrates with the existing curriculum • For Class 6 to 10 students; Curriculum requires 20 session for each class in a year • We provide evaluation facilities both online and offline • After completion schools are certified as Money Smart School • 20 Animated videos are developed on basic financial education topics for school students of class VI to X NCFE A financially aware and empowered Slide No. 5

FINANCIAL AWARENESS AND CONSUMER TRAINING (FACT) • FACT is a program by NCFE to provide financial education to our young graduates and post graduates, which will positively impact their financial wellbeing. • The topics covered under FACT are Identity theft protection, Responsible use of credit card, Education loan borrowing principles, How to avoid impulse buying, Lets go cashless, Your first pay cheque • Recently launched and around 1000 students covered.
