  • #5: In pairs, share where you see yourself in 5 years. Tell at least 2 people. Ask the class to share some of the answers….Wouldn’t you want to connect with that person?
  • #7: Reflect on your goals. Understand your strengths and feel confident in them. People want to connect with other driven students/professionals By a show of hands, how many of you have already created a LinkedIn? Personal website?
  • #8: I found it easier to contact alumni. Esp at first, I would contact recent alums. It was not as stressful, but still very rewarding when successful.
  • #11: Another “low stress” contact, is someone who lives out of state. They may have your dream job, but since you wouldn't actually work there, it takes your pressure off of possibly worrying about the other person thinking you just want a job. –
  • #12: Specialized groups; A good way to identify targets is to research on LinkedIn; Job search – research company and employees using LinkedIn
  • #14: Find more sample questions on my website in the resources
  • #16: Pinpoint 3-4 events
  • #17: Make business cards in Microsoft Publisher; Print a sheet at print and copy services for $1 if you cut on your own
