Oyster mushroom was found to improve glycemic control, lipid profile, and quality of life in type 2 diabetic patients. In a 3-month study, patients who consumed biscuits containing oyster mushroom or oyster mushroom and ajwain saw reductions in fasting blood sugar, HbA1c, blood pressure, total cholesterol, and triglycerides. Their diabetes quality of life also improved significantly. The study demonstrates that oyster mushroom consumption can help control blood sugar and lipids and enhance quality of life for type 2 diabetics.
