The alumni chapter hosted the always-popular tour of the Bou-
levard Brewery in November. More than 30 alumni from various
graduation years attended the sold-out event and received an exclu-
sive tour of the brewery while sampling brews.
President’s Corner: Welcoming the year
What a great 2014! We
saw several new alumni
join as chapter members
and many Kansas City area
alumni are liking us on
Facebook to stay up-to-
date on chapter events and
Truman news.
One of the highlight
events of the year was the
annual Boulevard Brew-
ery tour. Attendees got a
behind-the-scenes look at
one of KC’s gems.
Thank you for stay-
ing engaged in the Tru-
man family. It’s now 2015,
which means it is time
to renew your chapter
membership and encour-
age other alumni to join
the fun. The link to join is

information about upcom-
ing events to look forward
to this year.
Alumni Spotlight of the Month:
Stacy (Nikodym) Krieg, 1993
Stacy (Nikodym) Krieg
(‘93) is a Kansas City art-
ist.
She paints whimsical
and vintage subjects.
Stacy uses a unique
painting process for some
of her work, painting with
encaustic, which is bees-
wax. Encaustic gives the
paintings a lot of unique
characteristics and texture.
Stacy lives with her
two kids, husband, and
a plethora of animals in
Mission.
Her website is www.2-
stacy-krieg.artistwebsites.
com. Her next event will
be in May at the Prairie
Village City Hall.
Stacy can be reached at
kriegsj@yahoo.com.
Alumni volunteers
MLK Day is also Na-
tional Service Day.
KC Truman alumni
volunteered
at Rose
Brooks, a lo-
cal domestic
violence shel-
ter in Kansas
City, Mo.
Rose Brooks
provides a
variety of services to
victims of domestic
violence.
About 16 alumni vol-
unteered their morning.
Donations were
organized and sorted in
Rosie’s Clos-
et, a room
set up like
a store for
the residents
to “shop.”
Alumni also
organized
toys that were
donated to the Rose
Brooks’ Holiday Store in
December for residents
and their children.

Many alumni made a stop at the Ruth W. Towne Museum & Visi-
tors Center, the former Kirksville Fire Station. Exhibits highlight
local history and major eras of the University, and alumni had fun
touring campus while reminiscing about classes, professors and
student activities. Take a peek online at townemuseum.truman.edu.
KC alumni Hope Harms, Mike Wilson and George Dent returned
to Kirksville to capture division medals in the Homecoming 5K
