This monthly newsletter will help you to be better informed about the exciting programs and February 15 initiatives we have here. We are halfway through the Parent Forum 6 p.m. Media Center 2010-2011 school year and I am pleased with the February 21 commitment to learning that I see on a daily basis from School Make-up Day for Students students and teachers. We have been busy helping your sons and daughters achieve academic success that will empower February 24 them to be positive leaders in our community. Math24 Competition March 1 I am proud of our renewed focus on quality instruction, utilization of 21st Century technology in 3rd Quarter Progress Reports Issued classrooms and the improvement of student behavior with March 3-10 the implementation of the PBIS model. We have accomplished Scholastic Book Fair many of our goals of providing resources for our teachers, 8a.m.-3:45 p.m. daily thereby ensuring high levels of quality instruction for your March 4 child. Career Day I extend to you an open invitation to visit our school March 11 to see the great things happening here. We need your NRMS hosts Elementary Battle continued support at North Middle as we move forward. It of the Books takes a village to raise a child. - 2. Our Dreams Come True at North Rowan Middle Technology Corner Communities in Schools recently sponsored workshops for our students and teachers. The workshops were led by Dream What’s New.......................... Builders Communications, Inc. The founder of Dream Builders is Mr. Kenston Griffin, a nationally known motivational speaker. Mr. Wireless Internet installed Griffin met with our staff and facilitated grade level meetings • with our student body. The themes of his student meetings were throughout our building since “On the Right Road” and “Aspiring to Go Higher”. Some students November 2010 were randomly selected to have lunch with Mr. Griffin. In this venue he discussed leadership and the keys to success. Guidance Matters This spring our school counselors are facilitating two small educational groups for students. The names of the two groups are ‘Bullying Prevention’ and ‘Take Control of Your Anger’.
