Our Dreams Come True at North Rowan Middle
                                                                                                          Technology Corner
        Communities in Schools recently sponsored workshops for our
        students and teachers. The workshops were led by Dream

        Builders Communications, Inc. The founder of Dream Builders is
        Mr. Kenston Griffin, a nationally known motivational speaker. Mr.

        Griffin met with our staff and facilitated grade level meetings •
        with our student body. The themes of his student meetings were    throughout our building since
        “On the Right Road” and “Aspiring to Go Higher”. Some students    November 2010

          Guidance Matters
          This spring our school counselors are facilitating two small educational
          groups for students. The names of the two groups are ‘Bullying Prevention’
          and ‘Take Control of Your Anger’. Each group of 6-8 students meets once a
          week during a non-academic class. The students enjoy learning new ways
          to interact with their peers.
          In addition to the small groups, our counselors will be going into all social                Apple iPod Touch Program
          studies classrooms to talk to students about career choices. Our school
          counselors are Mrs. Yang and Mr. Austin.
