The study investigates the enhancement of forced convection heat transfer using porous pin fins in rectangular channels, highlighting their superior performance compared to traditional solid pin fins. The effects of parameters like Reynolds number, pore density, and pin fin form were analyzed, revealing significant improvements in heat transfer and pressure drop reduction with optimal configurations. Notably, long elliptic porous pin fins exhibited the highest heat transfer efficiency, while increased pore density led to greater heat flux but decreased overall efficiency.
