Observation and interview courtney
 1st - Begin at the UWG
library home page.
 2nd – In the search box
type in the book or the
topic of the book that
you would like to
research.
 3rd – Once you find the
book that most fits
your topic, write down
the call number for the
book.
 The call number for
the book that best
fits my interviewees
topic.
 Since the first letter is
a “N” the book will
be located on the
3rd floor

 Once we reached
the 3rd floor, we
searched the book
shelves for shelve
with the “N” books
 Once we found the book, we went down to
the front desk to check the book out.
 All the we had to do was to give the librarian
the book along with our student i.d.

 Me: How did you learn the process of checking out
a book?
 Amberly: One day I needed a book for class so I
asked one of the librarians for help and ever since
then I knew.
 Me: Do you think it was a hard process getting to
know how to work the catalog?
 Amberly: No, it was actually very simple and I
caught on very quick.
 Me: Is the catalog beneficial to students?
 Amberly: Yes, I think it is very beneficial because it
lets students get to know the library better by using
technology.
