- 7. More important than WHO the magi were is WHY they came. Adoration leads us to SUBMIT ourselves and PRESENT our treasures. This journey was a significant undertaking for which they EXPECTED NOTHING in return.
- 8. If our adoration is CONTINGENT on Him meeting all our EXPECTATIONS, then we have not arrived at true adoration. Herod was disturbed not because he didn’t believe it was TRUE, but because he FEARED it may be. Adoration is not defined by the language we use but the POSTURE of the heart, and a willingness to BOW the KNEE.
- 9. To come and adore we will need to confront our own INDIFFERENCE. Just because we have KNOWLEDGE of God’s Word does not mean we will come and ADORE Him. We cannot separate ADORATION for Him from expressed OBEDIENCE to Him.
