The Omaha Culture Walks provide teacher candidates opportunities to experience the diverse cultures of North, South, and West Omaha through a series of meetings. For each neighborhood, candidates will first meet for an overview of statistics, then with community experts to discuss challenges and resources, followed by a meeting at a community school to discuss culturally responsive teaching. Candidates will then reflect virtually on their learning and how it will impact their teaching. The goal is to help candidates better understand the communities and prepare for diversity they will experience in their future careers.
