OECD
• OECD`S full form is organisation for economic
co-operation and development
• OECD was founded at 1961
• OECD is an inter-governmental economic
organisation with 35 member countries
GOAL`s of OECD
• For stimulate economic progress and world trade
• OECD is a forum of countries describing
themselves as :-
1. committed to democracy and the market economy
2. providing a platform to compare policy experiences
3. seeking answers to common problems
4. identify good practices and coordinate domestic and
international policies of its members
History of OECD
• In 1948, the OECD originated as
the Organisation for European Economic Co-
operation(OEEC)
• In 1961, the OEEC was reformed into the
Organisation for Economic Co-operation and
Development by the Convention on the
Organisation for Economic Co-operation and
Development and membership was extended
to non-European states
Member countries of the EU (year of entry) The
European Union has 28 member countries
