This document outlines a proposed online course to teach reading strategies for the TOEFL test. The course would be taught to English majors between 18-25 years old at the 6th and 7th semester level. The general objective is for students to apply reading strategies and life experiences to understand different types of readings on the TOEFL test. The course would include 8 units covering skills like scanning, skimming, identifying patterns of organization, and extensive reading. Recommended bibliography includes books on teaching comprehension strategies and relevant websites with activities and lessons.
