This paper outlines a conceptual framework for designing Open Educational Resources (OERs) for online language teacher training, emphasizing the principles of micro- and macro-learning, cognitive load theory, and threshold concepts. It presents the Lilac project as a practical implementation that addresses online education challenges, aiming to enhance both teacher and learner experiences through personalized web-based training modules. The authors highlight the need for effective OERs in language education, particularly following the surge in online teaching necessitated by the COVID-19 pandemic.
