A Principled Technologies test report compares the cost and performance of VMware's vSphere with Virtual SAN against Red Hat Enterprise Linux with KVM and Red Hat Storage Server within an OpenStack environment. The findings show that VMware's solution delivers 53% more operations per second and 159% more IOPS while being 26% cheaper and requiring fewer physical servers compared to the Red Hat setup. These advantages make VMware's hyper-converged infrastructure an attractive option for cloud performance and cost efficiency.
