Selection of section via ‘cyclic random sampling’ method
Write down the sections in a line as shown in the figure. Starting from
section ‘1’, move to the next section at a time in a cyclic fashion, and
continue till you get to the number calculated at Step A (Random
Number) above. The section where you stop is the section selected.
Step B
(Cyclic random sampling)
Step A
(Using School PIN code digits to calculate random number)
Add together all the digits of the pin code of the school till we
get a single-digit number
Example:
Let your school PIN code be 110097
Random Number = 1 + 1 + 0 + 0 + 9 + 7 =
18=1+8=9
Instructions for student sampling protocol (to be used only if the selected section
has more than 30 students)
If there are more than 30 students in the sampled section in a class, then select only 30 students as per the
procedure given below:
Instructions for seating plan during conduct of survey
Grade 3
(6 sets)
Grade 6
(6 sets)
Instructions for seating plan during conduct of survey
Grade 9
(8 sets)
For class 9th, the first test booklet may be of any of the codes (test form no.) from 91 to 98 and hence the first booklet
in the sr. no. may be given to student ID 1 and so on irrespective of the booklet code (test form no.).
