– IB-1552 IB-550 IB-1552-A
– IB-1550 IB-250 IB-550-A
But we have over 1500 items on our price lists.
Items in the Item Master are (generally) either

• Items we configure and ship (Bill of Material Items) – eg IB-2000-DNS
• Support items (which result in contracts)
These are tagged to generate license keys
• Software items (which result in contracts)
These are tagged to generate license keys
• One of the 6 FRU (Field Replaceable Units)
(IB-1220-PWR-AC, IB-1552-PWR-AC, IB-2000-BATTERY, IB-2000-DISK,
IB-2000-FAN, IB-2000-PWR-AC)

Overview and Some Basics
§ Entitlements ---
§ All entitlements are tracked as
contracts.
§ Most entitlements result in keys
being generated for the appliance.
§ The list of keys the appliance
recognizes and what we can
generate is è
§ We set these up against individual
entitlement items in the Item
Master.

Entitlements and Customers
§ Customers need to have keys loaded on their appliance in order to (a)
enable certain functions and (b) demonstrate support
§ They can get from the web site.
§ Keys are always generated as needed. They are not stored.
§ Customers cut and paste them into their appliance.

Enough high-level concepts --
§ Let’s look at financial and physical flow of inventory.
§ Obviously, entitlements are not stocked and are not transacted in
inventory.
§ Financially, location counts ….. (new/refurb/etc)

Let’s walk through a couple of Order Flows
§ What impacts the financial reporting of a Sales Order à Shipment?
– Order Type
– Ship From Location
– We’ll walk through a couple scenarios

So where did the IB-550-DNS come from
§ We purchase an IB-550 on a regular Purchase Order from the
Contract Manufacturer. When we do a receipt for one, we’ll see 1
unit of IB-550 in Inventory.

A Few More Examples
§ We’ll walk through:
– INTERNAL ORDER (THESE ARE INTENDED TO BE CAPITALIZED)
• Used by Engineering / IT / ProServ
• Do not expect to see these come back into inventory
– EVAL ORDER
• Intended to go out and come back within a ‘reasonable’ time
– RMA ORDER
• Advanced Replacement
• Can ship from either new or refurb inventory
• Expect the defective unit to be returned
