Lotus Notes/Domino is a bundle of general purpose applications like email, instant messaging, databases, word processing, and website hosting. It works on a server-client model, with Domino as the server software and Notes as the client. Notes has three main applications: Administrator, Designer, and Notes. Lotus Notes/Domino has been in development since 1984 and has released several versions with new features like encryption, rich text, replication, programming support, internet integration, security enhancements, and mobile access. The latest release is version 8.5 which further improves web support and integration with other applications.
