Microsoft SharePoint is the central information sharing and
collaboration platform for Microsoft office system.
Microsoft Office System is comprised of collection of
applications, servers and services that work together to:

web service by using the SOAP protocol or through e-mail by
using SMTP protocol.

automatically routes incoming records to their proper location

any expiration policies that may be in effect and they are
thus protected from destruction.
