This document provides an overview of different waste streams in India, including:
1. Municipal solid waste (MSW) which makes up the largest quantity of waste generated daily at 143,000 tonnes. MSW composition varies across India but commonly includes organic material, paper, and other materials.
2. E-waste which is a growing waste stream due to technology upgrades. India generated around 800,080 tonnes of e-waste in 2014 according to one estimate.
3. Construction and demolition waste which was estimated at 188,000 tonnes per day generated in India according to one report, and dominates total waste generation in some countries due to urbanization rates.
