This document describes an educational activity about analyzing real-time ozone data from NASA satellites. Students will learn to [1] find current ozone levels above their location and anywhere on Earth, [2] understand how ozone amounts vary over time locally and globally, and [3] critically examine TOMS satellite data to determine if ozone depletion exists. The activity involves students looking up their latitude and longitude to find past ozone levels above their head and see how it has changed over various time periods. It also guides them in exploring the historical ozone hole over Antarctica and comparing it to ozone levels over the North Pole.
