- 2. laptop Laptop is a portable computer. It does not have a mouse but a touch pad and has a built in keyboard. It is power from the main ac power like the computer but it has a rechargeable battery. It is used to do work on the go or work at different locations. It is quitter, smaller and thinner than the computer. It connects to a router.
- 3. Tablet Is a touch screen mobile computer, what is bigger than a mobile. Lighter and has a longer battery life than a laptop. Has a virtual keyboard, some have stylus pens. The Ipad is a tablet some tablets have USB to connect to other computer systems and some connect through Bluetooth. It can be used to take notes quickly on the go.
- 4. Server A server is a computer hardware running multiple services. To complete the needs of computers on the networks. There are different types of servers for example: mail server, file server and web server.
- 5. Computer desktop/base unit Is a personal computer, that is not portable so it can only be used at a single place. Has a keyboard, a mouse and tower to connect all the wires. It does not have a battery, it is power from the main. It can used to do work, play games, watch videos and more. The base unit contains all the computer competent in side it.
- 6. Smartphones Is a mobile phone but with more advanced computing ability and connectivity. It can connect to other devices through Blue tooth or other features and some use wires. with the smart phones you can download apps, you can text, go online, go on social media sites/apps like Facebook, watch videos and more. The apple iPhone is a smart phone and one of the most common.
- 7. Game consoles Is a interactive entertainment computer displays a image to a monitor or TV. Some have batteries and others are powered by the main, HDMI cable is used to display the image to the screen. Some are portable and have there own screen to display the image. New game consoles can be used to play movies and blue rays, play video games by yourself or with friends, go on social media apps, watch videos, talk to friends, download apps and some used to go online. Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 are two known game consoles.
- 8. Embedded systems All appliances that have a digital interface like watches, cars and nuclear power plant. Each embedded system has a specific job. Some are used to control and drive a motor so cars are able to drive with no one using the hands.
