2. A group of scientists placed 5 monkeys in a cage and in the middle, a ladder with bananas on the top. קבוצת מדענים הכניסה 5 קופים לכלוב . במרכז הכלוב ניצב סולם ובראשו אשכול בננות .
3. Every time a monkey went up the ladder, the scientists soaked the rest of the monkeys with cold water. כל אימת שאחד הקופים טיפס על הסולם , חטפו שאר הקופים מקלחת קרה מיידי המדענים .
4. After a while, every time a monkey went up the ladder, the others beat up the one on the ladder. לאחר זמן מה , בכל פעם שאחד הקופים טיפס על הסולם , הוא זכה למכות נמרצות מחבריו הקופים .
5. After some time, no monkey dare to go up the ladder regardless of the temptation. במשך הזמן , אף קוף לא העז לטפס על הסולם , למרות הפיתוי העצום .
6. Scientists then decided to substitute one of the monkeys. The 1 st thing this new monkey did was to go up the ladder. Immediately the other monkeys beat him up. המדענים החליטו להחליף אחד מהקופים שבכלוב . דבר ראשון שעשה הקוף החדש היה טיפוס על הסולם . מיד התנפלו עליו , שאר הקופים , והיכו אותו .
7. After several beatings, the new member learned not to climb the ladder even though never knew why. לאחר כמה וכמה פעמים שחטף מכות , למד הקוף החדש לא לטפס על הסולם , למרות שלא היה לו מושג למה .
8. A 2 nd monkey was substituted and the same occurred. The 1 st monkey participated on the beating for the 2 nd monkey. A 3 rd monkey was changed and the same was repeated (beating). The 4 th was substituted and the beating was repeated and finally the 5 th monkey was replaced. קוף שני הוחלף וההתרחשות חזרה על עצמה . הקוף הראשון השתתף בהכאת הקוף החדש . קוף שלישי הוחלף , והאירועים חזרו על עצמם ( מכות ). קוף רביעי הוחלף , והמכות חזרו על עצמם . בסופו של דבר , הוחלף גם הקוף החמישי .
9. What was left was a group of 5 monkeys that even though never received a cold shower, continued to beat up any monkey who attempted to climb the ladder. מה שנשאר זה קבוצה של 5 קופים , שלמרות שמעולם לא חטפו מקלחת קרה , המשיכו להכות כל קוף שהתפתה לטפס על הסולם .
10. If it was possible to ask the monkeys why they would beat up all those who attempted to go up the ladder….. I bet you the answer would be…. “ I don’t know – that’s how things are done around here” Does it sounds familiar? אם אפשר היה לשאול את הקופים מדוע הם מכים כל קוף , שמנסה לטפס על הסולם ... אני מתערב אתכם שהם היו עונים ... " אני לא יודע – אבל כך העניינים מתנהלים כאן !" האם זה נשמע מוכר ?
11.
