Partnering with OCPS

This document proposes the Be G.R.E.A.T. Academy, a partnership between a charter school and the Orange County Public Schools district. The academy would experiment with emerging education ideas and innovations, allowing OCPS to observe their effectiveness before deciding whether to adopt them more widely. By testing new approaches in a smaller setting first, the risks of ideas that do not fulfill their promises can be minimized. The Be G.R.E.A.T. Academy proposes using teachers with more experience with technology and a tolerance for risk to test innovations that could then potentially be expanded to other OCPS schools if shown to increase learning and achievement for students.
