This technical report summarizes the working of a regenerative braking system. It discusses how regenerative braking systems capture kinetic energy during deceleration and convert it back to electrical energy instead of wasting it as heat. The electrical energy is then stored in batteries and can be used to power electric motors, providing improved fuel efficiency compared to conventional braking systems. Regenerative braking is particularly beneficial in stop-and-go city traffic where it can provide most of the braking force needed.
