The paper analyzes the performance of the Ad hoc On-Demand Distance Vector (AODV) routing protocol in mobile ad hoc networks (MANETs) under varying terrain areas and pause times using the NS-3 simulator. Key performance metrics such as packet delivery ratio, average end-to-end delay, and throughput were evaluated across different simulation scenarios. Results indicate that AODV performs well in high mobility environments but shows a decline in metrics as terrain size increases.
