The author experimented with dipping various objects in hot wax to preserve them. Some objects like coins could not be dipped because it was not possible to thread them with string for hanging. The author also used a postcard to write a message to potential future finders and observed how the wax changed objects' textures and colors. One challenge was dipping a metal bottle cap until the author was able to lift the plastic seal enough to thread string through. A flower required multiple dippings to achieve a nice icicle effect coating. Thin paper became transparent when dipped in wax, allowing patterns to be seen on both sides. In the end, the author displayed the various waxed objects with adjusted string lengths to prevent clustering
