This document evaluates the performance of adaptive receivers for Ultra Wideband (UWB) communication, focusing on the challenges posed by multiple access interference (MAI). It proposes an α-stable model and the fama/roll-mcculloch parameter estimation technique to enhance the robustness of receiver designs in noisy environments. Simulation results indicate that while the adaptive techniques outperform conventional methods in high signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) conditions, improvements are less noticeable in low SNR regions.
