This paper evaluates the performance of Transmission Control Protocol (TCP) in multihop wireless networks using adaptive pacing and link random early discard (LRED) to address issues with packet loss and congestion control. It demonstrates that combining TCP with adaptive pacing and LRED significantly improves TCP performance by enhancing spatial reuse and reacting early to link overloads. Simulations conducted in various network scenarios showed improvements in throughput by as much as 30% under the proposed techniques.
