People live in Western Asia for jobs in the oil industry, as drilling oil pays well. Some people in Central Asian countries are nomadic herders who raise livestock and move from place to place. Phosphate, a valuable fertilizer and mineral, is found in Syria, Jordan and Israel, so many people live in these areas for jobs accessing and processing this resource.

- 3. People live in the Western part of Asia for OPEC. OPEC is the organization that influences the price of oil on the World market. People move near there for a good job. Drilling oil pays a lot of money. So, people live in the Western part of Asia for the profit.
- 4. Some people that live in the Stan countries are Nomads. Nomads are herders that travel from place to place. They make a living by raising horses, cattle, sheep, and goats. This is why the Stan countries are so populated. (Kazakhstan below left)
