This document presents a case series discussing persistent PTSD among patients with Fragile X Syndrome (FXS) and intellectual disabilities (ID), highlighting three specific cases of individuals who experienced significant behavioral regression and chronic psychological disturbances following traumatic events. The findings suggest that PTSD symptoms in FXS patients are more severe and long-lasting compared to neurotypical individuals, with standard treatments showing limited effectiveness. It emphasizes the need for tailored interventions and further research into PTSD manifestations and treatments in this vulnerable population.
