- 3. Adam Halls family could not afford proper care for his mental illness, because of this, incident after incident led him to prison.
- 4. For many people suffering with mental illness, prison is just a default for them because they have nowhere else to take them in.
- 5. Diseases such as schizophrenia and anxiety are much more prevalent in those who are struggling with poverty (51% compared to 28%).
- 6. Physiatrist Asylums have been looked down upon ever since the 18th Century.
- 7. Rehab centers dedicated to mental health are almost impossible to find. If there are any around, they are expensive and inconvenient.
- 9. IF GOING TO A MENTAL HEALTH CARE UNIT WAS AS EASY AS BEING PUT IN JAIL THEN OUR CRIME RATE MIGHT BE MUCH LOWER. WE SHOULD BRING BACK MENTAL HEALTH CARE FACILITIES OR PSYCHIATRIC ASYLUMS. THEY WOULD BE NOTHING LIKE ONES FROM THE 18TH CENTURY. THEY WOULD BE A SANCTUARY AND SAFE PLACE FOR THOSE WHO NEED HELP. THERE ARE NO FACILITIES THAT PROPERLY TREAT MENTAL ILLNESS FOR LOWER INCOME FAMILIES. THESE NEW FACILITIES WOULD BE EASILY ACCESSIBLE TO ANYONE.
