Music magazine questionnaire

Using a music questionnaire which I placed together to ask students and adults I used the results I
collected to make a number of pie charts to show my results. I asked students from the ages of 16,
to adults to the age of 46.

What genre of music do you listen to?

                                                                                 Pop
                                                                                 Rock
                                                                                 Country
                                                                                 Indie
                                                                                 Dance
                                                                                 Rap
                                                                                 Electronic
                                                                                 Other

This pie chart above called ‘What genre of music do you listen to?’ states the question in which I
asked 10 people to answer. I have used 8 answers including; Pop, Rock, Country, Indie, Dance, Rap,
Electronic and other for them to choose from. The pie chart shows that Pop and Rock are the most
popular choices chosen by the people I have asked. The option of ‘Indie’ is a new genre which has
become popular towards students and adults, as it is shown by the pie chart not to be that much
further behind Pop and Rock.

                                How old are you?

                                                                          11 - 14 years old
                                                                          15- 19 years old
                                                                          20- 30 years old
                                                                          31-46 years old
                                                                          47- 60 years old
                                                                          61+

The next pie chart ‘How old are you?’ simply asks the 10 people I chose the age group which they are
from. My top results shows my questionnaire is taken by more ’15-19’ year olds as I did state my
questionnaire to students and adults. I asked a number of ’31-46’ year olds also which shows my
second popular age whilst I only asked a few ’20-30’ year olds and no younger ages. Asking students
to answer a questionnaire shows a better result throughout my questionnaire as it is unusual for this
generation to read and purchase music magazines.

                            What is your gender?

                                                                                 Female
                                                                                 Male
                                                                                 Other

‘What is your gender?’ pie chart above, shows that my questionnaire was asked to both male and
females this shows the results to be equal through genders. As I only asked 10 people all together
the pie chart above shows that I asked 5 males and 5 females. This question asked can be shown to
sometimes change my results of music genre as males and females enjoy different types of genres.

What type of music magazines do you read?

                                                                 Mixed music
                                                                 One genre (e.g: rock magazine)

This pie chart above shows the results from the question ‘What type of music magazine do you
read?’ This question is important to my results as it gives me the results of the type of magazines
that the 10 people I have asked what magazine do they read, if it was a mixed music magazine (more
than one genre) or a one genre magazine (for example a rock magazine). The results given was even
as it was asked to 10 people 5 people chose mixed whilst the other 5 chose one genre magazine.
Lydia Jones

Do you read the music magazine online?

                                                                                  Sometimes
                                                                                  Occasionally
                                                                                  Never

‘Do you read the music magazine online?’ is another question I asked in my questionnaire to 10
people. The results shown in the pie chart above shows that most people have said that they have
Never read a music magazine online, however looking at my paper copy of my questionnaire on the
proper results show that these people are 3/5 from ages 20-46, whilst the 2/5 are 15-19 year olds.
This result shows that older adults must prefer to read magazines by paper copy whilst younger
students prefer the magazine to be online or off apps.
