How to get started
1. Evaluate what you want you digital portfolio to portray
-Is this for professional or personal use?
-What type of audience will you want to see your portfolio?
Having a "design map" will help ease the process of creating your portfolio (color scheme, having all of
your documents prepared and ready for upload, i.e resume, biography etc.)
2. Go to
www.blogger.com. Click on the "Create User" tab. This will allow you to setup your google account via
gmail.
3. After you have setup your account, click "continue to blogger". This will take you to your new profile
with blogger where you will now be able to set up your blogs.
Setting Up Your Portfolio
4. Organize how you would like to have your page setup. For example: blogger posts show up as most
recent first. Therefore, you want to set up a "biography" first, as it will be the first post to show up on your
page.
5. To upload a photo to set as your main picture, click the blank image that appears next to your name in
the upper left hand corner. This will take you to your actual profile page, where you will see all of the icons
appear on the left tool bar, that allow you to add to you profile. You will see the photos tab, click this. To
upload single photos at a time click "upload photos" in the upper right hand corner of the page. You will
then be able to add pictures.
Adding Links/Sharing
6. At the top of the page, there is a share bar. Here you can click on any of the icons to the right of the bar
to upload links, pictures, blogs, files, and more.
Designing Your Blog
1. Click "View Blog" from the main homepage. This will then be able to see your posts and begin to edit
their look.
2. You will see a design bar on the top of the page, which will allow you to choose a design template that
fits your blog. You will also find settings to adjust the width, color, customize, layout, and advanced. You
may tweak your blog how you so choose.
3. After adjusting your design to your preference, click "Apply to Blog."
4. You may then click "Back to Blogger," where you can continue to add blogs, and share with your
audience.
After following these basic instructions, you will be ready to take on your digital portfolio!
