It is scientifically proven that people remember more clearly if their senses are involved. And most of
the activities involves many different senses, which are described by Heaney in a detail. There are
three senses involved in the poem Digging . Heaney remembers the clean, rasping sound he heard,
cool hardness he touched, and the cold smell of mould he smelt. Moreover, senses are described in

In Greek mythology, there is the giant Polyphemus who is included in Homer s Odyssey where he is

the center of the room? The television of course! In Jerry Mander s The Four Arguments to Eliminate
Television, where 30 years ago, he expressed that television will impact every aspect of today s world.
The author hits the target spot on about society now through his insightful predictions on the
incorporation of business into television as well as the harmful effects of television on the human
body.
First, Mander discusses how television will become not as much as a source of entertainment but
rather into a form of business. He was correct by saying this because anytime someone is watching a
show on TV what comes on during the break? Those pestering commercials trying to persuade the
watcher into buying a product that is completely unnecessary and irrelevant. In addition, the TV could
just be on with the sports channel and all of a sudden, the government can take over the air time and
make a public announcement whenever they please. The intention of the television was to be
something people can use to relax and enjoy from the comfort of home. Now the purpose of it is to
advertise dumb things and the government taking control of the TV whenever it suits them. Mander
predicted the future so accurately it is scary because back then no one thought it was going to happen

family. Ben Loy is one of the first Chinese men in New York to marry and bring his bride back to
America. The old men, most of whom have their wives in China are thrilled. They see Ben s marriage

memories of during and after the wars through the use of musical elements. It can be established that
the first song, 8th November reflects the Vietnam War, through the use of Dynamics, Pitch and
Timbre. Similarly, the second piece evaluated and analysed, (We ll Be Singing Hallelujah) Marching
through Berlin also utilises the musical elements of Dynamics, Pitch and Timbre to reflect emotions

There are 5 different chords used in 8th November, being, A, G, D, D/F# and F3. These chords change
through the verse to the chorus and back again and also alter slightly in the intro (same and the break
down chorus). This specific chord progression can be easily learnt so soldiers and other performers
