This document explores the power transient response of Erbium-Doped Fiber Amplifiers (EDFA) in Wavelength Division Multiplexing (WDM) systems, highlighting how wavelength allocations of add/drop channels affect power excursions. The study finds that using L-band channels results in a 73.39% reduction in transient response compared to C-band channels, with higher wavelengths yielding lower power fluctuations. Various simulation methods and control strategies for managing these transients are discussed, emphasizing the need for optimized parameters to improve system performance.
