Project Tango is a Google project that aims to give mobile devices a human understanding of space and motion. It involves Google and 16 other companies developing a new smartphone equipped with unique sensors that allow it to make over 250,000 3D measurements per second of its surroundings. The vision is to use these sensors and measurements to provide augmented reality experiences.
