RFID Based Smart
Attendance System Using
Arduino
Introduction :
InformationTechnology(IT)hasplayedasignificantrolein
developingseveralaspectsin academic sectors and domains
such as student monitoring and management systems..
RFID is standard for Radio Frequency Identification which is the
very latest concept of Internet of Things (IoT) and it is very
similar technology of barcode system but with some higher
advanced concept. It works by using transferring and receiving
signal using Antenna and Integrated Circuit. It has two parts
namely, RFID Tag and RFID Reader.
Objective:
*Automate the waste segregation process to improve
efficiency.
*Reduce human involvement in waste handling, thereby
decreasing health risks.
*Increase recycling efficiency by properly categorizing waste
into dry, wet, and metal types.
*Promote eco-friendly waste management and smart city
initatives.
Working Principle:
This project automatically detects and separates waste into
three categories.
1. Metal Waste (Detected using an Inductive Proximity Sensor)
2. Wet Waste (Detected using a Moisture Sensor)
3. Dry Waste (Remaining non-metallic and non-wet waste)
1. Dry Waste: Paper, plastic, glass, cardboard, etc.
2. Wet Waste: Food scraps, garden waste, organic.
3.Metal Waste: wire, aluminum foils, electronics.
Types of Waste :
Sensors:
Inductive Proximity sensor:
Inductive proximity sensors can locate metallic goals
near the sensor without making contact with the
target.
Moisture Sensor:
A soil moisture meter measures the amount of water in the
soil and can be used to estimate water garage within the
soil layer.
Infrared Sensor:
An infrared (IR) sensor is an electronic device that measures
and detects infrared radiation in the surrounding
environment.
Software Required:
Arduino UNO:
Arduino UNO is the software program used to operate the
Arduino board.
The Arduino UNO is a software program program for writing,
and uploading code to the Arduino board.
Components Required:
*Arduino Uno
*Stepper Motor
*Servo Motor
*Proximity sensor
*IR sensor
*Moisture sensor
*Lead Acid Battery
*Connecting Jumper wires
*Buzzer
*Shaft Adapter
Arduino UNO:
Arduino Uno is an ATmega328P based totally microcontroller
board.
Arduino UNO is the high-quality development board for
getting started out with electronics and coding.
Stepper Motor:
It is a type of electric motor that moves in servo precise steps
rather than rotating continuously like a regular motor.
Servo Motor:
A servo motor is a type of motor that allows for precise
control of angular position typically within a range of 0
degree to 180 degree.
Buzzer:
A buzzer is an electronics device that produces a sound,
typically used as a signal or alarm.
Applications of buzzer:
1. Alarm systems
2. Timers
3. Microwave oven
4. Vehicle indicators
Working Process:
1. Waste is placed on the input system
2. Metal Detection
3. Moisture Detection
4. Dry Waste Classification
