- 2. Jesus Teaches the Disciples Matt 16:15-18 TPT “But you—who do you say that I am?” Jesus asked. Simon Peter answered, “You are the Anointed One, the Son of the living God!” Jesus replied, “You are a blessed person, Simon Bar- Jonah! This wasn’t revealed to you by human beings but by my Father in the heavenly places. And I also say to you that you are Peter, and on this rock I will build My church.
- 3. 21 From that time on, Jesus started pointing out to his disciples that he must go to Jerusalem, and experience many things at the hands of the elders, chief priests and Bible scholars, and be killed, and be raised on the third day. 22 Peter took him aside and started rebuking Him. He reprimanded Jesus over and over, saying to him, “No way, Lord, this won’t happen to You!” Matt 16:21-22 The Source
- 4. Matt 16:23 The Source Jesus turned to Peter and said, “Get out of my way, Adversary! You want to trap me - your mind isn’t on the things of God, just on human things!”
- 5. 5 Then he poured water into a basin and began to wash the disciples’ dirty feet and dry them with his towel. 6 But when Jesus got to Simon Peter, he objected and said, “I can’t let you wash my dirty feet—you’re my Lord!” 7 Jesus replied, “You don’t understand yet the meaning of what I’m doing, but soon it will be clear to you.” Jesus Washes the Disciples Feet John 13:5-7 TPT

Jesus Washes the Disciples Feet John 13:8-10 TPT 8 Peter looked at Jesus and said, “You’ll never wash my dirty feet—never!” “But Peter, if you don’t allow me to wash your feet,” Jesus responded, “then you will not be able to share life with me.” 9 So Peter said, “Lord, in that case, don’t just wash my feet, wash my hands and my head too!” 10 Jesus said to him, “You are already clean. You’ve been washed completely and you just need your feet to be cleansed
- 7. Peter Denies Christ Matt 26:31-35 TPT 31 Along the way Jesus said to them, “Before the night is over, you will all desert me. This will fulfill the prophecy of the Scripture that says: I will strike down the shepherd and all the sheep will scatter far and wide! 32 “But after I am risen, I will go ahead of you to Galilee and will meet you there.”
- 8. 33 Then Peter spoke up and said, “Even if all the rest lose their faith and fall away, I will still be beside you, Jesus!” 34 “Are you sure, Peter?” Jesus said. “In fact, before the rooster crows a few hours from now, you will have denied me three times.” 35 Peter replied, “I absolutely will never deny you, even if I have to die with you!” And all the others said the same thing.
- 9. Do you love me? John 21:15-17 TPT 15 After they had breakfast, Jesus said to Peter, “Simon, son of John, do you burn with love for me more than these?” Peter answered, “Yes, Lord! You know that I have great affection for you!” “Then take care of my lambs,” Jesus said. 16 Jesus repeated his question the second time, “Simon, son of John, do you burn with love for me?”

You know that I have great affection for you!” “Then take care of my sheep,” Jesus said. 17 Then Jesus asked him again, “Peter, son of John, do you have great affection for me?” Peter was saddened by being asked the third time and said, “My Lord, you know everything. You know that I burn with love for you!” Jesus replied, “Then feed my lambs!
- 11. Peter is Transformed Humbled: No longer does he think he’s always right. He processed his disappointments Honest about his own selfish motivations and fear of man Willing to surrender his regrets and accept his mistakes

- 13. Peter has become a Son, surrendered to Jesus’ purposes and not his own Came to a full understanding of the purpose of the Cross Secure in Jesus’ love for him, and able to authentically love others without agenda. Spirit-led and Spirit-inspired: able to see Prophetic Significance
- 14. He had to come face to face with his own weakness, failure and self-importance. Accepted who he was, and who Jesus was for him. In so doing, he came face to face with God’s love and the incredible power of Christ’s death and resurrection. Peter is now Ready to Lead a New Move of God
