VISION 2020
The document outlines Malaysia's Vision 2020, which was introduced in 1990 with the objective of making Malaysia a fully developed nation by 2020. The vision called for Malaysia to become a self-sufficient, industrialized country by 2020 through achieving an annual GDP growth rate of 7% and doubling GDP every 10 years. It also aimed to improve aspects of life such as economic prosperity, education, social well-being, political stability, and national psychology. Challenges to achieving Vision 2020 included establishing a united Malaysian identity and developing a democratic, moral, just, and prosperous society with a competitive economy. Subsequent government programs like 1Malaysia, the Government Transformation Program, and Economic Transformation Program aimed to advance progress towards the goals of Vision 2020

- 2. INTRODUCTION Introduced by former Prime Minister of Malaysia Tun Mahathir Mohamad in 1990. Was presented to the Malaysia Business Coucil in 1991. Objective: to become a fully developed nation by the year 2020. The vision calls for the nation: To achieve a self-sufficient industrialized nation by the year 2020. Encompasses all aspect of life. (economic prosperity, social well-being, education, political stability, and psychology balance)
- 3. The main emphasis of Vision: An annual growth rate 7% is required. Means Gross Domestic Product (GDP) had to be doubled every 10years.
- 4. 9 CHALLENGER TO ACHIEVE VISION 2020 1. Establishing united Malaysian nation made up of one Bangsa Malaysia (Malaysian Race). 2. Creating a psychologically liberated, secure and developed Malaysia society. 3. Fostering and developing a mature democratic society 4. Establishing a fully moral and ethical society 5. Establishing a matured liberal and tolerant society. 6. Establishing a scientific and progressive society. 7. Establishing a fully caring society. 8. Ensuring an economically just society, fair and equitable distribution of wealth of the nation. 9. Establishing a prosperous society with an economy that is fully competitive, dynamic, robust, and resilient.

Government Transformation Program (GTP) To transform the Gov to be more effective in its delivery of services & accountable for outcomes that matter most to the rakyat. To move Malaysia forward to become an advanced, united and just society with high standard of living.
- 7. Economic Transformation Program (ETP) Economic transformation plan to propel Malaysia’s economy into high income economy (increase GNI). Under the guidance PEMANDU. 10th Malaysia Plan Increased the value in country economy Improve knowledge abilities and innovations and inculcate first world minded. Handle continuously socioeconomic inequalities. Improve level and ability of living quality Strengthen the institution and country implementation.
- 8. VISION 2020 TRANSFORMATION: Malaysia government leverages Information and Communication Technology (ICT). To transform the public service delivery through various ICT program. ICT has an instrumental role especially in using Open Source Software.
