The lionfish is a brilliantly patterned fish known for its venomous spines. It lives in coral reefs up to 50 meters deep near shorelines, where it hunts during the day using its large mouth like a vacuum cleaner. The lionfish is one of the ocean's most venomous fish and a voracious predator of crabs, shrimp, and small fish, reaching sizes of 30-35 cm, while its predators include sharks, eels, and humans.
