This document discusses several concepts related to embodied cognition and situated learning. It covers: 1) how cognition is situated within the body and shaped by its interactions with the environment, social relationships, tools and language; 2) theories of embodied cognition that see the mind as distributed across brain, body and world; and 3) approaches to situated learning that emphasize communities, activities and adapting to contexts. Key concepts discussed include embodied cognition, distributed cognition, the ecological approach, and Galperin's work on situated learning.
