• CADARN thoughts
– There are a number of fruitful experiences that I feel I have gained from partaking in the CADARN project.
– Fruitful:
– The development of an awareness of what is possible
– Developed film making and presentation skills
– Developed an awareness of devices including Panopto, Camtasia
– Started to think about learning technology into teaching/research
– Created a number of useful advertisements videos for the School
– Great opportunity for promoting material covered in modules. Perhaps a summary video per
seminar/lecture
– A group of people aware of shortfalls who can continue on producing similar resources, acting like an in
house production hub
– Ability to develop teams with expertise
– Assist in the furthering of digital humanities in teaching and learning
• Lessons:
– A different thought process must be utilised while developing the project
– The time consuming nature of sorting through copyright
– The cost of using some material can be extortionate (£10 a second for some material from ***** Institute)
– More visual based projects, with room for own photography and filming maybe a better focus
– Once it is been done once, it is an easy project to rerun
