4G technology was introduced in India by Bhariti Airtel in Kolkata in April 2012. It provides higher data speeds of up to 200 Mbps and allows for IP-based multimedia services. Some challenges of 4G include higher interference due to smaller cells, complex signal processing requirements, and ensuring seamless mobility and service handovers. 4G aims to deliver wireless broadband access and enhance mobile gaming and access to remote locations without wired infrastructure. While it expands connectivity and access, limitations include high carrier costs that must be managed to keep services affordable.
