- 4. 4 Independent Accredited Testing 4 Microgeneration Certification Scheme (MCS) • Managed by Gemserv and supported by DECC. • Maximum capacity of heat pumps is 45kW. • Assesses products, manufacturing processes and Installers. • Testing in accordance with BS EN14511:2011 Parts 1-4. • EN 16147:2011 testing for DHW heat pumps to be introduced. • Linked to RHPP/ domestic RHI.

- 6. 6 Independent Accredited Testing • Phase 1 - Non-domestic RHI since November 2011. • Phase 2 - Domestic RHI to start in Spring 2014. • Domestic RHI tariff: • ASHP – 7.3pence/kWh for heat generated • GSHP - 18.8pence/kWh for heat generated • RHPP to continue until 31 March 2014. • Eligibility criteria: • Energy Performance Certificate required • Green Deal Assessment • MCS register number – product/installation • All installations must be meter ready. 6 Renewable Heat Incentive (RHI)
- 7. 7 Independent Accredited Testing 7 Energy Technology List • Managed by Carbon Trust on behalf of DECC. • ECA claim available to all businesses that pay UK corporation or income tax. • Testing in accordance with: • BS EN14511– Space heating • BS EN16147 – Domestic hot water heat pumps • Minimum efficiency requirements. • Selected products on ETL audited annually. • Declared values must be within 95% of independently tested values.
- 8. 8 Independent Accredited Testing 8 European Labels • European Heat Pump Association (EHPA) Quality Label (QL). • 12 participating countries. • Testing in accordance with: • EN 14511:2011 – Space heating • EN 16147:2011 – Domestic hot water heat pumps • EN 12102:2008 – Acoustic testing • Multiple thermal test points. • Minimum efficiency requirement at one test point. • Testing regulations for seasonal efficiencies being developed.
- 9. 9 Independent Accredited Testing 9 Heat Pump Energy Labelling • Mandatory from 26 September 2015 . • Heating and combi-systems ≤70kW -Lot 1 (EU) No 811/2013. • Water heaters ≤70kW and ≤500L storage volume -Lot 2 (EU) No 812/2013. • Labels to include: • Appliance details • Energy class • Consumption, efficiency, capacity etc • Noise • Is the industry going to be ready for the labelling regulations?
- 10. 10 Independent Accredited Testing CPR replaces CPD • Construction Products Regulations (CPR) 305/2011/EU replaces Construction Products Directive (CPD) 09/106/EEC. • CE marking voluntary in UK under CPD until 01 July 2013. • BSRIA saw 100% increase in radiator test work over last 12 months, similar volume in 2005 on introduction of CPD. 10
