StartupBus is an annual entrepreneurial road trip, during which
the 'buspreneurs' conceive, build, and launch their startup.
This November, for the first time, it will run in Southern Africa,
bringing together 15 African and 15 International entrepreneurs
for a truly unforgettable journey.
Participants will be designers, and business developers all focused
on the areas Mobile, Healthcare and Energy.

Meredith McKenzie Vice President and Deputy
General Counsel Juniper Networks
Meredith McKenzie joined Juniper Networks in 2012 as
Vice President and Deputy General Counsel. She has
over 18 years of Intellectual Property experience, with
15 years in-house. At Juniper Ms. McKenzie manages
the group responsible for all aspects of Juniper’s
Intellectual Property and product support, including
patents, litigation, in-bound licensing, privacy, open
source, standards, M&A IP due diligence, trademarks,
copyrights and trade secrets. Prior to joining Juniper, she
spent over 5 years at Symantec Corporation as the
Senior Director of Intellectual Property and 5 years at
Cypress Semiconductor as the Director of Litigation,
Licensing and Intellectual Property. Meredith holds a
BSEE from Massachusetts Institute of Technology. and
a J.D. from Santa Clara University School of Law,
Magna Cum Laude, with an emphasis in Intellectual
Property.

Josephine Gordon, Independent Consultant
Josephine Gordon is a lawyer educated in both in
Kenya and the US. In Kenya, she graduated from
the University of Nairobi with a bachelor of laws
LL.B. degree and from Berkeley law with an
LL.M master of laws degree. Josephine has
specialized in law and technology for over a
decade. She now works as an independent
consultant for American technologists with start
ups in Africa and for African technologists who
want to partner with Americans.
RumbidzayiMlambo, Tech Women Mentee
RumbidzayiMlambo is an Intellectual Property
Consultant with IPB Solutions in Zimbabwe,
with a background in Biochemistry and
Chemistry from the University of Zimbabwe and
Intellectual Property from Africa University. She
has worked for the University of Zimbabwe, The
Ministry
of
Science
and
Technology
Development and the Research Council of
Zimbabwe. She is currently involved in various
S&T projects in the Harare Province in an effort
to ensure that S&T contributes to Socioeconomic Development including establishment
of a National Center of Research Excellence
which should see start ups and spin offs from
publicly funded Research. She is also a volunteer
with the Zimbabwe Association of Inventors.
Her goal is to become a qualified Patent

Jeremiah Gordon, Google Inc
Jeremiah Gordon is a Harvard trained attorney with
more than a decade of corporate law experience. He
worked at Wilson Sonsini Goodrich Rosati as a
corporate lawyer on venture financings, corporate
governance and mergers and acquisitions. He now
works at Google Inc. focusing on investments in later
stage companies.
Laura Norris, founding director of the
Entrepreneurs’ Law Clinic at Santa Clara
University School of Law and an Assistant
Clinical Professor
Laura is the founding director of the Entrepreneurs’
Law Clinic at Santa Clara University School of Law
and an Assistant Clinical Professor. Under Laura’s
supervision, clinic students counsel entrepreneurs
and start-ups on various legal issues and transactions.
Laura is also the principal of General Counsel
Services, a law firm established in 2006 to provide
intellectual property, business, and general counseltype services to entrepreneurs, technology startups,
and established companies. She is the chairman of
the board of MC2IT, a nonprofit innovation center
that provides students at Mission College with
experiential learning opportunities in the high tech
industry. Laura received her Bachelors of Science in
Electrical Engineering from the University of
Michigan in 1992, and worked as a design engineer
at Intel before going to law school. She is a member
of the California Bar and registered to practice
before the United States Patent and Trademark
Office.
