Aims
You have been tasked with producing a variety of advertisements for a product employing a variety
of media production techniques and disciplines. The adverts should have an ongoing theme and be
produced using graphic design, audio production and game design methods. For each technique
used, you need to evaluate its effectiveness
Aims
Understand a range of production processes and skills in the development and delivery of a creative
media activity.
The aim of this unit is for you to understand a range of production methods and skills that can be
deployed to create a media product to a brief.
By the end of this unit you will;
 Select and compare, through experimental application, a range of production processes in
support of a creative media activity.
 Demonstrate the use of production processes and skills to affect outcomes in creative media
activity.
 Assess the effectiveness of selected processes and skills in creative production.
Work produced in this unit is paired with 01. Introduction to Creative Media Methods and Skills.
The evidence pro-formas provided by your tutor are not exhaustive or prescriptive. If you would like
to evidence your assessment through alternative methods you can do so. If you would like to employ
alternative methods (video/audio/viva etc.) discuss these alternative options with your tutor.

Task 1 - Production Experiments 1.1
Produce small experiments in each of the following media productions focusing on
discovering and developing skills through creative experimentation.
As you experiment begin considering how these methods could be applied to your
production for the set brief.
 Graphic Design (Photoshop- All tools)
 Radio Production
 Graphic Design (Photoshop- Pixel graphics tools)
Task 2 - Production 1.2
Using your experiments and planning stages from Unit 01 begin production on your planned
products. Produce a series of adverts using a variety of Media for Coca-Cola ensuring you
meet the specified brief;
Print Advert
Individually produce a print advert for Coca-Cola. It must be portrait and include a single
main image. Ensure you include the name of the product and a slogan of your choice.
Radio Advert
In small groups (3-4) you must create a short radio advert for Coca-Cola. You can use music,
voice over and sound effects to produce your advert. It should last at 10-20 seconds
Advergames
Individually you must create a pixel based side scrolling game for Coca-Cola. It must be
made on a 320 (H) by 480 (W) canvas.
Task 3 - Evaluation 1.3
For each of your products, evaluate the effectiveness of the processes you have used and
your own skills in relation to the final product. Discuss;
 Advantages of working in this medium
 Disadvantages of working in this medium
 Comparisons with similar existing products
 Self evaluation of the effectiveness of the tools/processes employed
 Self evaluation of he effectiveness of the whole piece
Wherever possible, include clear direct examples to your work
