The Ivy project, funded by the European Commission, focuses on using virtual reality technology to enhance interpreter training through the creation of a 3D virtual environment for interpreting students and clients. The prototype aims to facilitate access to multimedia resources, enable scenario management, and support virtual interpreting scenarios, while recognizing the need for improvements in user experience and system capabilities. Future work will focus on usability evaluation and the integration of alternative technologies to enhance the educational experience for aspiring interpreters.
