Web project – Web Site
Consistency with Web Design Site Plan
Your website should follow and include all of the elements
described in the Web Design Site Plan you submitted earlier in
the semester. Your website will be judged against each of the
criteria in the site plan to determine how well you followed
your plan.
Site Design/Look and Feel
Throughout the semester we have discussed different elements
of web design. You will be evaluated on your use of the
following design elements as well as the over look, feel, and
design of your site:
· Visual identity
· Consistency/Unity of Design
· White Space
· Focal Points
· Contrast
· Font selection
· Ease of Reading
· Ease of Scanning
· Ease of Navigation
· Chunked Text
Web Site Construction
Website should include a homepage and at least 4 child pages
including the About page.
Every page must include:
· title
· Spry based navigation bar with links to each page
· Banner (see below)
Homepage
The homepage should be named index.html. The homepage must
include appropriate keywords and a description of your site.
The homepage should display the name of your business, its
logo (see below), and a description of your business. The home
page should create a visual identity for your website.
About page
This page should include your name, a working email link to
allow me to send you an email, class name, number, class
meeting time and place, the last date you updated the web site, a
description of your website, the target audience, and a link to
the document containing your storyboard or the storyboard
images themselves.
Other Elements

· Table
· Internal link to another page in your site (in addition to the
navigation bar)
· External link
· Image map
· Ordered list
· Unordered list
· Background image
· Flash Animation (See advertisement below)
Your site should include at least 4 images in the content (see
imagery above). All pictures should be neatly aligned with the
text and must have alternate text.
Use CSS to create styles (must have at least 2) in an external
style sheet (.css) that give your website a uniform look and feel.
You may use the C pre-designed CSS page layouts with your
own CSS styles.
Your website should be neat, well organized, easy to read, and
pleasing to the eye.
Review
· Use only web safe colors
· Check for broken links and orphaned files
· Check spelling
· Test your website using Mozilla Firefox version 15.0.1 or

theme of your site. This image should be placed on the
homepage in a way to draw the viewer’s eye. The collage must
include one image as a background layer and at least 4
additional images related to the main theme of your site. While
the focal point will not be judged on artistically, the combined
images should be as neat and clean as possible.

Create a Banner for your web pages using Photoshop. The
Banner should and include both text and images. It should be
sized appropriately for your site.

and appears from off stage (use motion or classic tweening). A
list of services or other information about your site should then

sound or other elements to make your advertisement stand out.
Optional: At the end of the movie a 'Replay' button should
appear. When clicked, it should start the advertisement over
from the beginning. In addition, the replay button must support
Up, Over, Down, and Hit states. (5 bonus points)
