 Keep it simple. Keep it straight. That is investment
philosophy.
 Tops and bottoms are for the fools to catch, a top is a
highest point of the stock, which is what a greedy
investor often wait for and bottom is just opposite,
where one should buy into a stock.
 A person who makes an investment is called an
investor he may be an individual, a company, firm,
etc, these investors provides funds to the business by
purchasing their shares and debentures of companies.
 To analyse investment preference of business owners in
Kolhapur city.
• To understand measures of customers.
• To study investment avenues.
• To study investment for income, growth and capital
 To study is to understand the level of awareness about
various investments method and awareness of investment
preferences.
 The scope of the project is mainly concentrated to the
study of pattern of people.
• Geographical study: This study is conducted in
Kolhapur city in SP wealth private Limited.
• Topical study:This study is conducted to know effective
employee engagement in organization.
• Analytical study:This study covers the concepts and
details of Investment preference in Kolhapur city.
 Research is a process in which the researchers wish to
find out the end result for a given Problem and thus the
solution help in future course of actions. The research
has been defined as " A careful investigation or enquiry
especially through search for new facts in branch of
knowledge".
 Data-collection:
There are two types of collecting data:
1) Primary Data
2) Secondary Data
The primary data is data collected for the first time. It is not used or
collected by anyone else. It is not processed data. It is collected
through
the observation, oral, investigation and Questionnaires.
• Research instrument – Questionnaires
A questionnaire is a research instrument consisting of a series of
questions for the purpose of gathering information from respondants.
Questionnaires can be thought of as a kind of written interview.
• Sampling size - 100.
Sample size measures the number of individual samples measured or
observations used in a survey or experiment.
 The data which have been collected by someone else and
which have been already passed through the statistical
processes is called Secondary data. Secondary records
consist of published as well as unpublished Records.
 The Secondary data collection done as follows:
1. Data are collected from the company's website.
2. Books and journals pertaining to the topic.
3. Company magazines, & newspaper, journals.
 The research is restricted only to Kolhapur city.
• Time constraint: The time was a problem as the time
allocated for the study was not enough to undergo a more
comprehensive research on the topic.
• Only 100 respondent data has been taken into
consideration
• The purpose behind the study of Share Market is to guide
the young or new investors about the investment in the
Shares, Securities, bonds etc. and making them aware
about the certain basics of investments before making an
investment. The investor should aware of the working of
Share Market and its technological changes.
The Three Types of Investments:
1. Ownership Investments: Ownership investments are what
comes to mind for most people when the word "investment"
is batted around. Ownership investments are the most
volatile and profitable class of investment.
2. Lending Investments: Lending investments allow
you to be the bank. They tend to be lower risk
than ownership investments and return less as a
result. A bond issued by a company will pay a set
amount over a certain period, while during the
same period the stock of a company can double
or triple in value, paying far more than a bond -
or it can lose heavily and go bankrupt, in which
case bond holders usually still get their money
and the stockholder often gets nothing.
3. Cash Equivalents: These are investments that are "as
good as cash," which means they're easy to convert back
into cash.
Stock exchanges across the country are:

Association" in 1875 It is the first stock exchange in the
country to obtain permanent recognition in 1956 from the
Government of India under the Securities Contracts
(Regulation) Act, 1956
National Stock Exchange:

to provide a modem, fully automated screen-based trading
system with national reach The Exchange has brought

 There is no assured route for achieving investment success
or for that matter there any cut-and-dried, instantly
applicable or sure-shot formula for making money in stock
market. Below are some tips/suggestions for successful
investment in the equities:
 1. The investor does not invest their money in unlisted
shares they invest in active shares
 2. The investor's their investment diversifies but don't over
diversify
 3. Ensure liquidity of your investment
 4. Don't invest in the new issues especially where you are
not aware of the management.
 There is no assured route for success. This is a fact
which is universally applicable and so in case of
investment. There is no short cut formula which
could be applied instantly and make money out of it
instantly is the stock market. Therefore a good
investment takes time, patience, hard work and
perseverance to achieve success
 All roads to investment success are equally valid and
all of them have strong point in their favor and
disfavor. The stock market is a place where every
theory has its day and gained a spectacular success.
